GRAMMY-winning Sharam returns with his heavy new single, ‘Don’t Know (What)’, released on 6th September through his iconic label, Yoshitoshi Recordings.

‘Don’t Know (What)’ is pure fire from Sharam. He slams out a driving tech house beat, cleverly laying down a groove from a chopped-up pitched-down vocal that moves in unison with the track’s bulging bassline. The track’s second drop is insane, following an intense, expertly crafted buildup of wild synths and looping voices that build real excitement on the floor.

The single arrives during a standout year for the Deep Dish member, hot off the back of March’s ‘Anthem’, a suitably-named collab with Major Lazer’s Diplo with over 2M streams. In 2023, Sharam remixed Eddie Amador’s iconic track ‘House Music’ for its 25th anniversary – the ‘2.5 remix’ –, and in April joined forces with Adam Beyer, Layton Giordani, and Green Velvet for a belting modern take on his 2007 smash-hit, ‘P.A.T.T. (Party All The Time)’, topping Beatport charts and garnering 10 million streams by the time you read this. Not only he’s gearing up to release his fourth album in 2025, he is steadfastly busy collaborating with his long time partner Dubfire for new adventures with Deep Dish.

GRAMMY-winning producer and three-time GRAMMY nominee Sharam has been a pioneer in dance music for over 20 years. A member of the iconic electronic duo Deep Dish alongside Dubfire, he’s renowned for his innovative style, famously referred to by DJ Mag as a producer who “could never be accused of repeating the same trick over and over”. Sharam’s iconic ‘P.A.T.T. (Party All The Time)’ reached #8 on the UK charts in 2008, a year in which he also won BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix Of The Year. His widely-acclaimed label Yoshitoshi, founded in 1994 and named one of Mixmag’s Top 50 Labels of the Decade, continues to shape the industry, delivering tons of dancefloor essentials across house and techno, such as Skylark’s remix of Chiapet’s ‘Westworld’, Eddie Amador’s ‘Rise’ and Nicole Moudaber’s remix of Alcatraz’s 1995 hit, ‘Giv Me Luv’, which was Beatport’s top-selling techno track of 2015.

Sharam’s last three albums highlight the producer’s musical range, starting with the eclectic double LP ‘Get Wild’ in 2008. This was followed by ‘Retroactive’ in 2016, where he drew from the diverse influences of his extensive career. In 2017, his LP ‘Collecti’ marked a return to his techno roots, featuring over eighty minutes of intense and dark original tracks. In 2019, he released ‘The Rain,’ a deep vocal house track that became a viral sensation in the underground scene, later receiving a global release on Universal/EMI in 2022.

This new single from Sharam, ‘Don’t Know (What)’ is further proof of his ability to cause carnage on dancefloors through infectious grooves and drool-worthy breakdowns. Be sure to test this one at a rave and keep an eye out for more singles ahead of Sharam’s monumental album arriving next year.
