ALX - Grey EP

After coming off from playing the renowned Amsterdam Dance Event, ALX is on a serious mission, spreading his unique flavour of techno world-wide. This round sees ALX partnering up with Victor Calderone's esteemed Waveform Recordings with his forthcoming Grey EP. Set to release November 14, Grey features 3 edgy, originals that will brings listeners into the depths of ALX's dark, techno realm.

"Grey" – begins with low, rumbling bass and crisp, high hats that will get your body instantly moving.  A distressed voice cries out, layered over a distorted howl, creating a highly apprehensive mood. Around the 3:30 mark, the breakdown comes in, opening up to a jazzy, keyboard riff. ALX shows off his instinctive sense of musicality in this powerful, techno record.

"Planted" – quick, sharp snare hits and heavy, thumping bass start this track off. A static hiss teases your ears, while rhythmic claps fight their way through at regular intervals, bringing you into a hypnotic groove. "Planted" maintains a steady, gradual build the entire way through. Minimal, twinkling bells add tension before shattering into a final blow around 4:00, allowing the winding rhythm to take over once more.

"Innocent" – has a warehouse vibe that depicts ALX's muscular techno. Quick, rhythmic drums immediately flood your ears and get your heart pumping. Hypnotic vocals gradually make their way to the front. As the tension continues to build, the track is suddenly stripped back at 3:00, leaving listeners with a simple, yet powerful bassline. We then continue down the dark, winding path as the magnetic vocals take over once more.
