GRiZ Takes It Back To His Roots With Bangers[1].Zip EP

Just two months after the release of Ride Waves, his most creative and collaborative studio album to date, GRiZ returns with three new tracks today via his Bangers[1].Zip EP –‘Voodoo (feat. SUPERLOVE)’, ‘No Bad Trips’ and ’Ice Cream’, all reminiscent of his heady bass sound with shades of reggae and dubstep. European fans who weren’t able to catch him on Season One of his Ride Waves tour or aren’t able to make any of the newly announced Season Two dates in the US also have a chance to experience the GRiZ phenomena, as he brings his infamous energy across the pond for a number of festival appearances in July.

GRiZ’s musical history has seen him take a sonic journey through future-funk, glitch-hop, dubstep, soul and beyond, with this next batch of releases staying true to his eclectic style whilst hinting at a more club-leaning approach. The lead track ‘Voodoo (feat. SUPERLOVE)’ is a feel-good reggae jam, sliced up by heavy dubstep drops and lyrical references to black magic and shamans. ‘No Bad Trips’ follows in the same vein, with the prevalence of a signature funky horn section and cuts of head-banging sub-bass frequencies. Fans may recognize ‘Ice Cream’, a track he’s been previewing across Season One of his tour. At Detroit’s Movement, GRiZ waded through a massive crowd in Hart Plaza with a mobile ice cream cart, passing out treats to fans as the track looped over the speakers.

GRiZ’s trip to Europe will see him debut at the likes of EXIT Festival in Serbia, Metropolis and We Are Electric Festival in the Netherlands, Dour Festival in Belgium, Mad Cool Festival in Spain and Nass Festival in Bristol, sharing the stage with a diverse range of top-tier artists such as Rudimental, Disclosure, Bonobo, Kaytranada and SG Lewis. GRiZ will then return to the States to the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, for his fifth year of sold-out double-headers, performing foundational favourites from his 2010-2017 catalogue on the 30th August, and a special Ride Waves / new music showcase on August 31, ahead of embarking on Season Two of his Ride Waves tour.

July 7 – Petrovaradin, Serbia – Exit Festival
