GRiZ Unleashes Second Bangers[2].Zip EP on Deadbeats

In the midst of his busiest summer yet, GRiZ teams up with Deadbeats, the label owned and operated by prominent electronic duo Zeds Dead, to deliver the second EP in his Bangers series, Bangers[2].Zip. The three-track release follows closely in the soundscapes of his previous EP and much of his foundational style, drenched in wobbly dubstep and heavy drops.

Fans have eagerly awaited the arrival of ‘Griztronics’ – a collab with riddim producer Subtronics that he recently teased during his Electric Forest set. Clocking in at just over three minutes, it’s the ultimate bite-sized party starter complete with reggae-inspired vocals and reverberating drums. ‘Freak The Method’ follows, bearing distorted vocals from GRiZ and a powerhouse guitar riff that’s served as the intro to his live shows for almost a year. Closing out the EP comes ‘Push The Vibe’, a dizzying dub-forward track that packs a punch and serves up a grimy bassline that leaves listeners wanting more.

GRiZ recently returned from an impressive run of European festival shows, which saw him perform standout sets at the likes of Dour Festival in Belgium, Mad Cool Festival in Spain and We Are Electric in the Netherlands, alongside names such as Bonobo, Disclosure, Kaytranada and SG Lewis. Now back in the US, GRiZ will return to Colorado’s beloved Red Rocks Amphitheatre for his fifth year of sold-out nights, spanning throwbacks and favorites from ‘10-’17 on Friday, followed by a special Ride Waves / new music set on Saturday. In true ‘show love, spread love’ fashion, GRiZ also announced a special phone-free, hometown DJ set at The Fillmore Auditorium the night before his Red Rocks double-header. Serving as a precursor to Season Two of his Ride Waves tour, GRiZ will treat audiences to all the tracks in his Bangers series across 18 cities in the US this fall. Major tour stops include Chicago’s Navy Pier at Festival Hall, LA’s Hollywood Palladium, and Berkeley’s Greek Theatre, before heading back to Europe for a run of club dates later in the year.

As the brainchild of Zeds Dead, Deadbeats label recently released music from Rusko, Peekaboo, Eprom x G Jones, 1788-L, Moody Good…. you get the point. In just over three years, Deadbeats has become a destination label for bass music acts that are pushing boundaries and shaking speakers. Forthcoming Deadbeats releases include Zeds Dead, the forthcoming EP from Blanke, Blunts & Blondes debut EP, plus music from Sumthin Sumthin, Eprom, ZEKE BEATS and many more.
