GROUNDATION, MALA RODRÍGUEZ & BKO QUINTET at IBIZA ROOTS FESTIVAL

The summer festival is here! Ibiza Roots Festival is proud to announce a top line up for its third edition of this season 2015. The show will include the best Reggae Roots band of the moment, Groundation,  from California; Mala Rodríguez with all her flow and power, and from Mali, BKO Quintet, all of who will perform together on this unmissable date which  takes place next Monday, August 3rd at Ibiza´s Recinto Ferial.

Groundation recovers the sounds of Jamaica from the 70´s and 80´s and combines them beautifully with the best jazz, funk and dub.

The band is made up by 10 artists who convey an universal message of peace, reclaiming this way the universal legacy left behind by Jamaican music legends the likes of Bob Marley and Pete Tosh.

The legendary band from California, with almost 20 years of experience, continues playing in front of hundreds of thousands of fans who attend their shows around the world. They also headline the world´s most prestigious World Music, Jazz and Reggae festivals such as Womad, Rototom Sunsplash and the Montreux Jazz Festival, amongst others.

Mala Rodríguez has become the most respected female artist in the hip-hop scene thanks to her unique style, scenic force and powerful and poetic lyrics.

Some of her hits such as ‘Tengo lo que tu quieres’ , ‘Quien Manda’, ‘Por La Noche’, ‘Lluvia’, ‘Tengo un trato’ or ‘Nanai’, have managed to leave a mark on a wide and varied audience.

Mala Rodríguez hasn´t stopped since the beginning of her career over 20 years ago, alongside which she´s won many awards, including Grammys and MTV awards.

BKO Quintet offers a musical journey to the contemporary heart of Mali, which makes them one of the most interesting and recognised bands from their country.

Their latest DVD ‘BKO On Air’ was nominated at Womex 2014, the most important world music trade show in the world. Their live shows stand out for their powerful drums and a rather energetic stage presence.
