HAAi presents Coconut Beats 2018

With a penchant for danceable oddities from around the world, HAAi's Coconut Beats parties started as a way to explore these more esoteric musical tastes. It's since progressed from an intimate party in Dalston to a radio show on both Rinse and Worldwide FM, a blog and now a full on party series and record label.

We begin in a massive way with a set from Auntie Flo, as he returns for another Coconut Beats session, this time taking you on a sonic journey to Africa for the opener on July 07.

One half of Pachanga Boys, Rebolledo brings the sounds of Mexico to the Phonox floor on July 14 with DJ Boring and HAAi transporting you to their home turf of Australia, traversing through the origins of their musical influences for the third session of the series on July 21.

We bring it home to close out the first month of Coconut Beats with London party institution Body Hammer alongside HAAi in the booth on July 28.

On August 04, HAAi welcomes the Tel Aviv powerhouse Red Axes for a trip to the aural delights of Israel with that disco, house and techno tip they're known for – one to put in your diary.

Hailing from Japan, DJ Nobu combines abstract techno with authentic floor anthems and textured avant-electronic music with unknown house tracks with the most compelling effect. It's a pleasure to have him with us on August 11.

The final two parties are both highlights of the series with Mehmet Aslan and Baris K on August 18 and world music specialist Gilles Peterson on August 25 who'll lay down a full on Brazilian set – can't wait to get started.

Of the series, HAAi said; "I’m so excited to reveal my absolute dream Coconut Beats line up for 2018.  Over 8 weeks in the summer I'll be hosting some of my favourite people in dance music right now at Phonox, including bringing (Imo) the best underground London party, 'Body Hammer', south to Brixton.

Join us for two consecutive months of Coconut Beats from around the globe!”
