Harvey McKay - Harvey McKay – Wrong Turn
July 20th 2015 sees Scotland’s revered man-of-the-moment Harvey McKay return to Carl Cox and Jon Rundell’s seminal Intec imprint with his sublime new EP entitled, ‘Wrong Turn’.
This essential two-track offering follows the Glasgow-based DJ/producer’s Intec EP debut entitled ‘Something Good’, which went Top 5 on Beatport last year and became one of Intec’s best-selling releases.
The EP’s title track ‘Wrong Turn’ kicks proceedings off and boasts all of Harvey’s trademark production qualities encompassing a powerful driving groove, an abundance of chopped-up vocal samples, funky guitar stabs and a wealth of dominant low-end frequencies.
‘Servant of 2 Masters’ continues the mania by bringing the tempo down slightly to draw us in with its seductive Lo-Fi beats, looped-up Jazzy chord stab and Housey rave-esque vocal snippets.
All in all, both tracks complement each other brilliantly and make another fine addition to Intec’s already potent arsenal of dancefloor destroyers – It’s great to have Harvey back!
‘Wrong Turn’ EP is available exclusively via Beatport from July 20th and the rest of the world two weeks later.
