HASKELL returns to Uprise Music with Rock The Rhythm, a collaboration with Montreal-via-Atlanta vocalist and rapper Dope Earth Alien. It’s a tough, rolling cut built for late-night pressure: low-slung, hypnotic, and loaded with intent.
The track centres around a heavy, rubberised bassline and stripped-back percussion, creating a sense of forward momentum without overplaying its hand. Dope Earth Alien’s vocal threads through the mix with eerie precision, part surreal monologue, part call to action, while a rave-tinged breakdown briefly fractures the groove before locking it back in tight.
HASKELL has steadily carved out a name with rhythm-led productions that keep things raw and functional, recently drawing support from the likes of Mark Knight, Gene Farris, and GW Harrison. Rock The Rhythm leans into that same aesthetic but throws a few curveballs, tapping into Dope Earth Alien’s genre-blurring style and underground credibility.
With past collabs alongside Honey Dijon and Aluna, Dope Earth Alien brings a distinctive voice that cuts through convention: equal parts punk, club, and experimental. Together, they deliver something that feels dark, direct, and off-centre enough to stand out.
