James is already a hot ticket back home and in the US, with sold-out headline live shows in Australia, a 15 date headline North America tour (including his Coachella debut), and support slots with ODESZA. The 13 date European tour’s debut UK live performances have been snapped up by Reading and Leeds’ festivals on 28 and 29 August respectively (where he’ll appear on Radio 1’s dance stages), with his debut London live show set for Oslo in Hackney on 10 September. Tickets for all tour dates are on sale now.
Live onstage is where you’ll find the real magic in his (increasingly) French-touch inspired sound. The European tour crosses 9 countries and kicks off on 7 August at Austria’s Poolbar Festival, before travelling to Belgium (8), Sweden (15), Netherlands (21), France (22), Germany (23), Norway (27), UK (28 & 29), and Spain (4 Sept), before return visits to France (6 Sept), UK (10), and Germany (12).
‘Something About You’ has hit high rotation on specialist and commercial radio across Australia, and made the leap to daytime US radio. A highlight of both Coachella weekends, and one of the anthems for the forthcoming Ibiza season, expect this to be one of the tunes of summer 2015. James recently revealed the video for ‘Something About You’, the beautifully choreographed piece of performance dance available to view via his Vevo channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mVJJvx04_w.
Currently putting the finishing touches to his debut album, James is influenced by artists including Jamie xx, Caribou, Daft Punk, SBTRKT, James Blake, and Toro Y Moi. He grew up in Sydney and cut his teeth on the local club scene, where he quickly became known as one of the city’s rising stars. The Balearic pop of his debut track, ‘Permission To Love’, helped him scale the busy heights of the booming Australian electronic scene and to the pinnacle of the Hype M chart. An EP and a slew of remixes (Dillon Francis, ODESZA, RÜFÜS) later, and James had further established himself as a mainstay on both the Australian and international touring circuits.
