HEAR PHACE’S GUEST MIX FOR FRICTION

Released this week, ‘Shape The Random’ is the fourth album from Phace, aka Florian Harres, the renowned German electronic music producer, DJ and label owner championed by the likes of Amon Tobin, Noisia, Skrillex, Andy C, Goldie, Friction, Rockwell, Black Sun Empire and beyond. To celebrate the album release, he’s uploaded his guest mix for Friction’s BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra shows to his SoundCloud:

Both pioneering and progressive, Phace’s discography includes 3 full length albums, ‘Psycho’, ‘From Deep Space’, and ‘Raum und Zeit’ (as part of the duo, Neosignal), plus EPs including ‘Now & Tomorrow’, ‘Energie’, ‘Motor’, ‘Vitreous’ and ‘Space Gsus’, and more. Over the past decade he’s released numerous electronic music chart breaking singles, remixes and collaborations – e.g.  ‘Brainwave’, ‘Cold Champagne’, ‘Program’, ‘Desert Orgy’, ‘Planet Online’ – on some of the world’s most renowned labels including Vision, OWSLA, Mau5trap, Shogun Audio, Hospital and Critical.

Released on Phace’s own label, Neosignal Recordings, he worked on the album for over a year, and believes this is his most intense production experience to date. The 14 track album contains the cutting edge drum & bass music that’s become his signature, an uncompromising and original sound that combines twisted bass, rhythmical experimentation, high contrast ambience, deep cinematic themes, explosive energy, and elements of analogue tech and funk.

Based in Hamburg, Phace’s music has resonated far and wide, building a large and growing army of loyal fans and spurred on by tours to most corners of the globe. Recent shows include London’s Fabric and Electric Brixton, Amsterdam’s Melkweg, Toulouse’s Le Bikini and Hamburg’s Waagenbau.
