Heist Recordings Head To Halcyon Nightclub For First Ever U.S. Label Showcase

Amsterdam-based collective, Heist Recordings, will kick off February’s parties at San Francisco’s newest 24-hour club, Halcyon. This is the first ever Heist Recordings label showcase in the U.S., and the label, renowned for carefully curated, groove-laden, underground house, brings an abundance of talent to the Halcyon turntables. Heist founders, Detroit Swindle line up alongside re-edit master, and making his San Fran debut, Adesse Versions, while versatile DJ / producer, Nachtbraker enjoys his debut U.S. appearance. Heist Recordings are sure to add to Halcyon’s growing reputation as they enjoy the club’s world class Pioneer Pro Audio soundsystem, uncompromising production values and crowds of San Fran’s coolest party people. Tickets for the event are available here: http://www.ticketfly.com/event/1401782-heist-recordings-showcase-san-francisco/

Since opening in November 2016, Halcyon has set the highest standards in clubbing, welcoming some of electronic music’s most talented artists to the helm, including, Dubfire, Fritz Kalkbrenner (live), Madmotormiquel, Jan Blomqvist (live), Sharam, DJ Sneak, Serge Devant, Visionquest (Lee Curtiss & Ryan Crosson), Kenny Dope, Tiefschwarz, Lee Burridge, Marco Bailey and more.

“We’re excited to bring Heist to the U.S. for the first time,” says Gina Milano, Halcyon Owner. “Our music policy is to bring the most exciting, current music to San Francisco, and Heist is musically one of the coolest labels of the moment. With such an incredibly talented set of its DJs on the line up, it is an event we are honoured to host. It will certainly be an event not to miss!”

Heist Recordings has been a go to label for proper underground house and electronic music since summer 2013. It was founded by Detroit Swindle, as a means to gain full control over their creative output and to create a stage for like-minded artists to showcase their music. The label has grown rapidly with a stable of talent, numerous releases, compilations and a Boiler Room takeover in London last summer.

Detroit Swindle was formed by Lars Dale and Maarten Smeets, who after meeting in Amsterdam and discovering a shared love of Motown, hip hop and early house, decided to make music together.  Since then they’ve released on the likes of Freerange, Future Classics and Kaoz Theory and are renowned for energetic DJ sets and their unrivalled ability to connect tunes spanning over five decades, to create their own unique sound.

Adesse Versions is the latest incarnation of Kevin Gorman, the talented DJ/producer who has released on such labels as Numbers, Ostgut Ton and Cocoon. Adesse Versions began as a re-edit project paying tribute to his musical heroes but rapidly grew as more people heard the timeless music created. Expect a wide selection of music and plenty of raw emotion on the Halcyon dancefloor, as Adesse Versions makes his San Fran debut.

Rounding off the Heist Recordings label showcase is Maurits Verwoerd a.k.a Nachtbraker. His name translates as Night Hawk, a reference for his habit of immersing himself in underground studios, only to emerge at night. Nachtbraker has formed an enviable reputation as a versatile producer able to create everything, from downtempo grooves to dancefloor destroying house, with equal skill. Nachtbraker’s debut U.S. appearance is guaranteed to impress.

With Halcyon holding one of San Francisco’s (very rare) 24-hour licenses, if people want to dance, there’s no better place. Although the bar will close at 2am (in accordance to US licensing laws), if the club is still open, the bar will reopen at 6am for the party to continue, giving DJs and clubbers freedom to enjoy the full Halcyon experience.

Heist Recordings first U.S. label showcase at Halcyon, a club that delivers a multi-sensory clubbing experience like no other, will surely be a night to remember.
