STMPD RCRDS keeping them coming thick and fast this month with a mighty return to one of their best-loved moments of 2018. Ralph Felix has served up a searing dancefloor remix of his collaboration with KEV, Holding On To You, that delighted fans towards the end of last year.
‘Holding On To You’ is a great blend of both mine and KEV’s sounds” says Felix, “but I needed a version that worked on the dance floor in my DJ sets and thus the remix was born! I really feel this remix goes back to my roots, progressive house vibes all the way.”
Felix has taken the sweet, tropical-tinged tones of the original and amped them up into a peak-time, big room house workout. Hollow bass tones pump over a snappy house beat as the magical guitar lines rise from the depths. Massive snare rolls build us to the arrival of early ‘90s style piano chord progressions, the vocal quickly rising the intensity atop a huge build. The drop delivers warped electro sounds and rugged bass before the golden pianos join back in to take the track into the highest reaches of dancefloor euphoria. The chorus sounds resplendent as the beat drops out for another enormous, epic breakdown, sending us higher still before one more final thrust.
Both the original as well as the remix are monster tracks and with much more new music planned for the year ahead, expect to hear a lot more about Ralph Felix in the coming months.
