Over the past few years, French powerhouse TheSoundYouNeed has become synonymous with quality music, specialising in bass music, garage and hip-hop. One of the key global music curators, the household name in the YouTube world has naturally developed into a record label, offering a platform to some of the most exciting, forward-thinking talents in electronic music.
After the successful release of LA house artist Durante’s Goddess / Cold EP, TSYN Records is proud to present their latest signee, Hurley Mower. Home Cooked EP explores the full range of the upcoming Chicago producer, from the ethereal melodies of intro track Idols, and chilled lounge vibes of Home Cooked to the heavier, classic hip hop feel of Drip. Mower’s music is intricate, skilfully lacing heavy bass lines with his subtle atmospheres and intelligent vocal manipulations.
Founder Olivier Dutertre stated the label’s motto is “about pushing artists that have no compromise in creativity and in which I personally believe in. This isn't exactly "the sound you need", but more "the sound we love, the sound I want to release, and push to anyone that'd like to give a listen". Hurley Mower’s other-worldly ‘Home Cooked’ EP is yet another touchstone for what’s to come for TSYN Records.
About Hurley Mower:
Rising 21-year old producer Hurley Mower is rapidly becoming one of Chicago’s hottest music talents to look out for.
After several years of spending endless nights on Ableton, he decided to pursue his music career in 2015 and moved to the hometown of house – Chicago, where he has worked on inspiring collaborations with local artists, nurturing his sound. There he crafted his own ‘#headbob’ genre, an evolution of trap blending hip hop and dance music.
Hurley soon started to turn out a tremendous body of finely tuned work, to critical acclaim. His tracks The Way, Retro, Drank and Look At Me have all racked up several hundred thousand plays on SoundCloud – a few of which also soundtracking videos created by popular YouTuber Casey Neistat.
Having already previewed his remixing capabilities, and with a praised rework of UK artist Raleigh Ritchie’s hit, Bloodsport featured on MTV, it’s clear to see that Hurley has the talent required to become a credible artist in the electronic music scene.
