Hot talents Jack Kelly, Bertie Scott & Lauren L’aimant unveil lush house cut

Rising, young production talent, Jack Kelly has teamed up with the BBC Introducing ‘one to watch’ artist Bertie Scott and the in-demand singer-songwriter, Lauren L’aimant, to release the gorgeous chill house tune, ‘Backwards’. Arriving via the chart-topping record label Perfect Havoc, Jack’s label and management home that has guided the 21-year-old to sign to Spinnin’ and go on to remix for Joel Corry and Jax Jones. Kelly is a serious one to watch.

Starting out at the tender age of 15, the Belfast-born music producer Jack Kelly began his journey by remixing the hits of the moment and uploading them to Soundcloud. Fast forward to 2022 and Jack’s modern and futuristic approach to deep house music, coupled with melodic lines and indelible toplines, has earned him an impressive 5 million streams globally across all platforms, and fans in EDM giants Nicky Romero and R3HAB who both spun his single ‘Driving’. Kelly is undoubtedly on the trajectory to becoming his nation’s brightest rising star.

On writing and vocal duties on ‘Backwards’ is the alt-pop artist Bertie Scott, named as one of BBC Introducing’s 30 artists to watch out for and described as “electro-pop with hooks you’ll be remembering for weeks” – they weren’t wrong! Over 34 million Spotify streams were clocked in just one year by this independent producer and vocalist on releases via Ultra, Monstercat, and the Nitro/Sony released ‘Whistle’ – Scott’s fresh take on Flo Rida’s hit alongside Laidback Luke and Tribbs. With support from Martin Garrix, KSHMR and Don Diablo, and more exciting collabs in the pipeline, the Bertie Scott sound looks to keep on spreading.

Completing the bill on ‘Backwards’ is North West London artist, Lauren L’aimant. Tipped as a “triple threat” by BBC Radio 1’s Jaguar, L’aimant has fast become a recognised name in the electronic music scene, performing worldwide alongside established acts like Icarus, Grafix, Lane 8 and Rüfüs Du Sol. Her writing, production and vocal talents have seen her release on respected labels such as Toolroom, Anjunadeep and Hospital Records. With an ever-expanding discography of releases in the works, an exciting era of music awaits for L’aimant fans everywhere.

Together these three artists have created a quality, vibey house tune in ‘Backwards’. The entire track was written on Zoom with Kelly at the helm on production duties. Lush melodies, a warm groove and earworm performances by L’aimant and Scott on verse and chorus duties respectively, this tune will stay with the listener long after the track has ended.

‘Backwards’ is yet another quality release for UK label, Perfect Havoc. Shortlisted for Best Independent Record Label at the 2023 Music Week Awards, Perfect Havoc’s niche of commercial dance alongside handpicked club-focused sounds, has given rise to six UK Top 20 singles including ‘Fake Friends’ by PS1 feat. Alex Hosking, and the No.1 single ‘Head & Heart’ by Joel Corry & MNEK.

Now having generated over 10 billion streams, Perfect Havoc is one of the most consistently successful indies in recent years. Keep an ear out for more releases in 2023 with cuts also from CHANEY, Freejak, Ben Pearce, Ros-T, Varski and much more lined up.
