Two of the fastest growing producers in accessible dance music, Movada and DJ YUKI, have teamed up for the release of ‘Push It’ featuring the platinum-selling singer-songwriter Lena Leon. Released 12th May on leading indie imprint, Perfect Havoc, ‘Push It’, serves up a bouncy bassline, and just the right amount of sass and attitude to get the floor filled. Following Movada’s previous single ‘Level Up’ which received seven consecutive plays on BBC Radio 1, and YUKI’s many cover features in The Dance List and New Dance Revolution, this new single has big shoes to fill, and boy does it deliver.
Movada (aka Noel Wayne / Ekko City) is a bona fide one to watch following his thumping tech house re-imagination of Akon’s 2005 hit ‘Bananza (Belly Dancer)’. With current views of around 27M on TikTok, its success is testament to Movada’s ingenious composition skills.
The young artist has released a string of successful singles – all streamed in their millions – including his 2020 debut single ‘Stay’ on TYM Recordings, his debut on Perfect Havoc ‘High Off Me’ in collaboration with Mahalo, and the mighty aforementioned ‘Level Up’ which was also playlisted on KISS Dance and featured on ITV’s Love Island UK. With further co-writing and production credits for Matoma and The Vamps, and remixes for MØ, Martin Solveig and Kodaline, it’s fair to say Movada is making quite an impression. Also keep an eye out in June when Movada drops even more new material on Spinnin’.
Joining Movada on ‘Push It’ is the unstoppable DJ and producer YUKI. She’s also been making quite an impression with a string of singles, notable remixes and flawless DJ sets. YUKI’s short career to date boasts many highlights including her 2021 debut single ‘Weekend Love’ with Dante Klein and Laura Davie (House Gospel Choir), her massive reworks of Marshmello and Khalid’s ‘Numb’ and the Ciara classic ‘Goodies’ in collaboration with duo FUSE, and the Diplo supported bootleg of ‘Buss It’ by Erica Banks.
Hailed by MTV as “Perfect for catching those weekend party vibes”, YUKI has taken her high energy DJ sets across the world, mixing up both underground and commercial styles. From performing on the Club MTV Dance Tour and UK festivals Sundown and Camper Calling, to opening London Pride and warming up for Craig David, YUKI is an accomplished act with an exciting future ahead.
Completing the bill of talent on ‘Push It’ is the acclaimed all-round singer/songwriter, vocal producer, and engineer, Lena Leon. Lena’s songs have racked up streams in the millions on Spotify and hit No.1 spots on charts around the globe. A 2023 nominee for Best New Artist at the EDM Awards, the skills of this New York artist in writing and vocal production have seen Lena work with an assortment of artists from international pop stars to dance music giants Tiësto, Tchami, Kygo and many more.
‘Push It’ is another quality release for Perfect Havoc with its chunky 4×4 beat, melodic soundscapes and cheeky lyrics. Shortlisted for Best Independent Record Label at the 2023 Music Week Awards, Perfect Havoc’s niche of crossover dance alongside club-focused sounds has accumulated over 10 billion global streams and given rise to six UK Top 20 singles and multiple platinum, gold, and silver awards.
Keep an ear out for more Perfect Havoc releases in 2023 with cuts also from Ben Pearce, Just Kiddin, Ros-T, and Oliver Nelson and Tobtok.
