Up-and-coming Chicago-based producer Azzecca—one of DJ Mag’s ‘Ones To Watch 2025’ and one of Beatport Next’s ‘Class Of 2025’—shares her new single, ‘Holding Back’, out Friday, February 7th on Three Six Zero Recordings.

‘Holding Back’ is the latest in Azzecca’s deep dive into spacey, hypnotic house. Bursting with bright breakbeat drums, mesmerising synths, an irresistible bassline, and a euphoric, anthemic piano melody, it’s a masterclass in dancefloor emotion. Azzecca herself describes it perfectly: “The vocal on this track felt so anthemic, I just wanted to take a swing at making something light and fun and housey, while still incorporating some of my signature cosmic sounds.” The result? A club essential that makes you want to put your hands in the air and cry at the same time.

With ‘Holding Back’, Azzecca kicks off the new year in a big way, solidifying the momentum from her breakthrough year in 2024. Adding to the excitement, DJ Mag just recognised Azzecca as one of their ‘Ones to Watch 2025’, she’s been named by Beatport Next in their ‘Class Of 2025’ and BBC Radio 1 Dance have hailed her as a Future Star for 2025, a testament to her rising status as one of the most exciting names in house and techno.

Highlights of Azzecca’s 2024 included selling out Sound in Los Angeles and performing at major festivals like Coachella, Movement, and ARC Music Festival. The Illinois-born producer and DJ was also widely recognised by DJ Mag, UPROXX, and Clash Music, with support coming from major radio stations such as BBC Radio 1, Kiss FM Australia, and SLAM! (NL). Azzecca received rave reviews for her track Who’s That Girl, which Arielle Free called “one of 2024’s essential tracks,” adding, “2024 was the year Azzecca proved to the world she deserves her place at all the parties and bills. She is top of my list as a future headliner.” With high-profile interviews in Forbes, Noctis, and SPIN, and an upcoming podcast appearance on Scuba’s ‘Not A Diving Podcast’, Azzecca has firmly established herself as an artist destined for main stages in the years to come.

Azzecca, a Chicago-based DJ, producer, and COSIMEA event brand boss, is known for her distinctive underground style, blending the darker shades of house, techno, disco, and surging ‘cosmic’ sounds. “I love the juxtaposition between euphoria and darkness,” she explains. Launching her career with the 13-million-streamed ‘Other Side,’ Azzecca has shared stages with industry icons like Tale of Us, Âme, Joris Voorn, and DJ Tennis, while commanding global festivals like Coachella, Movement Detroit, ARC Chicago, Audioriver (Poland), Portola, Ritvales (Colombia), EDC Vegas, Radio 1 Ibiza, Printworks, fabric, Rise Festival, and The Warehouse Project. Her sold-out headline shows include Elsewhere Brooklyn, Sound LA (x2), and It’ll Do Dallas (x2), while her event series ‘Dirty Disco’ and newly launched ‘COSIMEA’ spotlight emerging global talent and forward-thinking, otherworldly club sounds. Renowned for her thoughtful selections and genre-spanning sets, Azzecca takes audiences on emotional, unexpected journeys, solidifying her status as one of dance music’s most exciting rising stars.

The soaring piano house single ‘Holding Back’ caps off a milestone year for Azzecca, as she—buoyed by strong support from the electronic music scene—looks ahead to an undoubtedly fruitful 2025.
