Josh Butler’s ORIGINS RCRDS revisits Groove Armada’s slick two track ‘House Musique’ EP this February, with fresh interpretations courtesy of Reboot and rising talent Ben Sterling.
Founded in late 2015, Josh Butler’s burgeoning ORIGINS RCRDS has quickly established itself as an imprint following a string of releases from a host of top tier artists including Richy Ahmed, Kerri Chandler, Darius Syrossian, Bontan and Huxley to date. Having welcomed legendary UK duo Groove Armada to the label in September, with the original package picking up significant support from the likes of Eats Everything, Solardo, Matthias Tanzmann and more, Butler now enlists revered German producer Reboot and ascending label regular Ben Sterling to deliver impressive remixes to open 2019 for the label.
Reboot’s ‘Heavy Traffic Rework’ opens the package, with the Frankfurt native opting for an amalgamation of wavering low-slung rhythms and crunchy percussion to accent the original production’s infectious lead stab melodies throughout, whilst on the flip, slick drum shots, hooky vocals and bumping bass licks go to work within Ben Sterling’s stripped back, driving remix of title track ‘House Musique’ to close proceedings.
Groove Armada ‘House Musique Remixes’ is out on Origins Rcrds on 15th February 2019.
