American producer Sage Caswell drops four quality house cuts for the second release on Huxley’s No Idea’s Original label.
The LA-based artist has been crate digging and making music since a teenager, evident in the string of innovative productions that have garnered him a reputation as “one to watch” over the last few years. With a discography spanning the likes of Spring Theory, Peach, Archie Pelago Music and Waze & Odyssey’s W&O Street Tracks, the quality of Caswell’s work is indisputable making him an apposite name to appear on Huxley’s auspicious imprint.
‘Welcome Home’ meanders forward assisted with a suspense fuelled by zealous percussion and a rumbling low-end. Crunchy snares and warped synths then generate the absorbing ‘What Starts To Happen’ before ‘House of Jeans’ delivers cavernous kicks, echoing effects and a looped vocal sample. Tying it all together, ‘Leaving’ combines shuffling hats with smooth chords for a mesmerising conclusion.
Sage Caswell ‘House of Jeans EP’ drops on No Idea’s Original on 11th March 2016.
