Known for crafting bespoke one-off house music experiences, Househead LDN announce an Exclusive Daytime Bank Holiday Party and masterclass DJ set from one of America’s most distinctive DJs, Kai Alcé on Saturday August 24th. Known for his NDATL label and Deep Detroit parties, Kai is a “a pillar of American dance music history” and he joins a strong lineup that features DJs Craig Smith, Rap Saunders, Deli G and more. Taking over their spiritual home, Waterloo’s immersive venue, Aures, expect pure House music magic all day long…going deeper through the speakers.
Kai is a key figure in American dance music, bridging the roots of Detroit’s electronic scene with Atlanta’s burgeoning house culture. His formative years in Queen, New York, saw him exposed to influences from his Haitian heritage, including his mother’s penchant for soca music and the distinctive Caribbean rhythms alongside an appreciation of Jazz guided by his father’s expanding audiophile home system.
One of house music’s most distinctive travellers, Kai’s musical journey further flourished in Detroit, where he was mentored by Chez Damier and worked at the legendary Music Institute. Next stop Atlanta, Georgia, where he pioneered soulful dance music, notably through his DEEP residency and the creation of the House In The Park festival. His label, NDATL, highlights the musical essence of New York, Detroit, and Atlanta, supporting both established and emerging artists, including Larry Heard, Mr. G, Theo Parrish & Mike Huckaby. Known for his vibrant fashion and community mentorship, Kai remains a dynamic and influential force in the dance music world.
Continuing on their journey through the underground sounds of Deep House and more, Househead LDN assemble a stellar line up to compliment Kai Alcé including Soulmates’ Rap Saunders, Bristol’s Good Vibrations mainman, Deli G and Edinburgh’s 6th Borough Project’ Craig Smith, joining Ldn Househead DJs Nick Standen, Carlene & Roly Andrews.
