Elephante - I Am The Elephante EP
As burgeoning talent Tim Wu – best known as Elephante – continues to carve his reputation as one of the most refreshing names in the game today, with news of his upcoming debut EP teased earlier this year, fans have been eagerly clamouring to get their hands on a copy. Finally, the wait is over – ‘I Am The Elephante’ is yours to own now.
A labour of love and over a year in the making, with ‘I Am The Elephante’ Wu certainly does not fail to deliver. A diverse and eclectic range of impeccable hits that highlights Tim’s versatility as a producer and ability to effortlessly transition from progressive house to future bass over the course of one EP.
Kicking off with a piece of pure progressive house perfection in the form of ‘Closer’ ft. Bishøp, a single which has already garnered him 3 million streams on Spotify alone and earned spins on Sirius XM BPM and iHeart Evolution. Next up, Elephante weaves in a touch of dirty bass alongside soaring synths to provide a masterful rework of MIIA’s hauntingly beautiful track ‘Dynasty’. Slowing things down for his next single, Elephante follows on with one of his self-confessed favourite productions ‘Catching On’ ft. Nevve, a captivating electro pop infused masterpiece that was named ‘Best of the Week’ on Apple Music, was #1 on HypeM and has already hit over 1m streams. Keeping up the chilled vibes with ‘Plans’, Tim opts for a slower tempo, jamming with tropical inspired beats and deep bass alongside Brandyn Burnette’s uplifting vocals that perfectly leads into ‘Hold’ ft. Jessica Jarrell, a hypnotic and infectious single. Teaming up with Nevve once more, ‘Sirens’ explores Elephante’s darker side, rife with bouncing bass and spiralling synths. A track as epic as it name attests, ‘Goliath’ ft. Jody Brock puts Tim’s musical background to the test with guitar riffs and piano progressions vying for attention against Brock’s huge vocals and electrifying synth work. The penultimate track and perhaps one of Tim’s most experimental pieces, ‘Black Ivory’ is a unique fusion of trap and future pop with hard-as-nails bass and playful elephant calls that truly demonstrates Wu’s range. Last but by no means least, Elephante goes for a hint of nostalgia with his first original single, ‘Shake The Earth’ ft. Lyon Hart – a harmonious balance of frenetic synths and tinkling ivories led by Lyon’s powerful vocals. With Wu’s innate ability to create a big room banger whilst still maintaining his melodic sensibilities, it was clear from the get go that Elephante was destined for success.
Hailing from Ann Arbor, the Harvard educated, Michigan Native has been taking the dance music world by storm ever since he quite literally gave up his day job back in 2014. Earning rave reviews from the likes of Rolling Stone, Sirius XM, Playboy, DJ Mag and Billboard, as well as respect from some of the biggest names in the business, Elephante’s innovative approach to production, and ability to weave irresistible and captivating soundscapes will no doubt ensure that his music stands the test of time. Having already achieved unprecedented radio success through his independently released solo singles, over 35 million SoundCloud plays and a staggering 80 million total digital streams in his relatively short career, whether he is in the studio or whipping crowds in to a frenzy at stages such as the Billboard Hot 100 Festival, this dynamic producer has the world at his feet.
