It’s a great moment for any up and coming producer when one of the world’s biggest DJs supports their tune. And for EJ the story is no different. Support from world class selectors including R3hab, Arno Cost and Sam Feldt hinted that EJ is racing ahead. But co-signs for new track Ignition from superstars Thomas Gold and Oliver Heldens ahead of the Berlin ePrix show that EJ is a serious contender.
EJ is no stranger to dance music. He’s delivered powerful DJ sets at Formula E’s races to packed crowds and millions of TV viewers across the world. Setting the perfect soundtrack to a racing event doesn’t buy you a free pass in the dance music scene, though. But thanks to a distinctive musical style, and a lot of hard work, EJ is being recognised for his talents by some of the biggest names in the game.
Ignition encompasses the feel of a race, a driving vigour paired with relentless rumbles of low-frequency oscillation and a tense, synthetic energy. A marriage of forward-thinking house music and the emotion of an intensely competitive race, this is a record that is primed for darker, progressive dancefloors.
