This is an EP with a rich cast of influences. It comes from Aron Estocolmo and takes its cues from the Ganges and Taj Mahal. It is coloured with worldly instruments, table drums and grand emotions and is a stunning debut from this new producer on the Girubu Music label.
The first track, ‘The Ganga River Unpolluted Once More’, is a homage to the Ganges and it flows with all the energy of that vast river. Drums drive it along, soaring strings ring out into the sky and the whole thing is filled with a sense of optimism and hope.
Then comes ‘A Teardrop On the Cheek of Eternity’ which takes its name from the words uttered by Nobel prize laureate Rabindranath Tagore when he first spotted the Taj Mahal. It has strings, gentle tabla drums and underlapping drums that carry you away on soothing waves. These are two majestic tracks that the likes of Dixon and his fans are sure to absolutely love.
