“Seriously ambitious… [Night Gestalt’s] restraint yields a sound that is at turns quiet and foreboding; one that marvels at the depth and breadth of space, both in the cosmos and in composition.” – THE FADER
Night Gestalt is Swedish artist Olle Cornéer (of Dada Life) who was inspired to see this idea through to fruition while recovering from cancer. Inspired by artists such Aphex Twin, Black Dog, Arvo Pärt, John Luther Adams and Steve Reich, Cornéer manipulates simple arpeggios and his own vocals to create texture and patters resulting in starkly complex arrangements. The 8+ hour album tells the story of a spaceship (“ONE”) controlled by a computer (“SHE”) carrying the last of humanity from earth destroyed.
