Jaguar debut single ‘WILD!’ out now – Full EP in September on her UTOPIA Imprint

Jaguar, already famed as BBC Radio 1’s tastemaker, DJ & broadcaster releases her debut single ‘WILD!’ on her label UTOPIA, out now along with a tour and an autumn release 4-track EP.

Hailed DJ Mag’s Underground Hero and Mixmag’s Broadcaster of the Year for her commitment to championing sensational artists such as Barry Can’t Swim, Hannah Laing, Elkka, TSHA and Prospa from day one on BBC Introducing on Radio 1 Dance, Jaguar’s explosion of creativity producing, songwriting and performing her own tracks is highly anticipated by fans and peers alike.

‘After experiencing years of imposter syndrome and convincing myself that I wasn’t good enough to put out art, I found my inner power by reconnecting with my inner child. In 2024, I thought ‘fuck it’ and finally bashed down the boundaries holding me back and I found that I was able to create!’ says Jaguar, who’s spearheading the new genre she’s created – UKC (UK C*nty)!

In ‘WILD!’ you can hear Jaguar’s influences, defined by 10+ years of curating radio shows and being the go-to tastemaker for UK dance music, alongside her immersion in the queer club scene and love of bassy whoppers, skippy hi hats and of course, pop music. Madonna’s ‘Vogue’ gets a Brit clubber’s response in the whip-smart rap lyrics and a UK Garage inspired bassline.

‘You only have a debut release once, so I wanted to centre this moment around my 30th birthday [in April] to symbolise growth. I’ve never felt more alive, vivacious, grounded and at peace with myself. I’ve found my voice – you bet I’m using it now. Bring on the new era of Jaguar!’

The full EP, releasing in September to mark the fifth birthday of her UTOPIA imprint, sees the ever-ambitious artist flexing her production and songwriting muscles and lending her own vocals and spoken word skills to tracks she’s been working on with friends and collaborators Bullet Tooth, Jacana People, lleo, and Air Wolf Paradise.

 ‘I feel high when I’m making music. I’ve totally immersed myself in this EP and I’m loving every second of my production journey – from working with friends, to recording vocals – I’m having the time of my life!’ 

In 2022 Jaguar changed the landscape of the UK music scene with her inaugural report ‘Progressing Gender Representation in UK Dance Music’ from The Jaguar Foundation and Sony Music.
