Born and raised in California, Jamaica Suk’s musical heritage is influenced by her innovative musician grandfather, who played in revolutionary bands in the 70’s such as Muddy Waters and the Coasters, Jamaica Suk studied music and was trained in Jazz from an early age. Suk performed in bands with genres ranging from Psychedelic Rock, Shoegaze, and Math Rock. Originally from Northern California, Jamaica re-located to San Francisco where her alliance with Techno grew.
Now living in Berlin, Jamaica makes her vinyl debut on Tim Xavier’s brand new imprint Face To Face Records, following her Embers EP on Coal Recordings. Her sound can be described as sexy and sophisticated contemporary Techno but still packing a punch that puts it perfectly in line for prime time sets. The 4-track EP with a bonus digital only track explores all her ideas as a musician and artist including taking inspiration from her rock roots with gritty raw elements.
Already respected among her peers in the industry as a talented solo producer, Jamaica’s hard work and determination have resulted in multiple upcoming 12″ releases on various labels and Berlin imprints. Her latest productions have found their way into the record boxes of DJ’s such as: Paul Mac, Zenker Brothers, Eric Cloutier, Orde Meikle, Cari Lekebusch & Alexi Delano.
All her work is produced and mixed solely by herself.
