Label boss Josh Butler and Berlin based DJ/producer Ben Rau remix Richy Ahmed’s stand out ‘Jammin’ EP on ORIGINS RCRDS to close out April.
With releases in the last 12 months alone from the likes of Groove Armada, Richy Ahmed, Huxley and more, ORIGINS RCRDS’ reputation within electronic music as a go-to label for quality material across the house spectrum continues to rise. Having recently revisited Groove Armada’s ‘House Musique’ EP to reveal interpretations from Reboot and Ben Sterling, here we see the label reveal a second fresh set of remixes as Inkal/Meta boss Ben Rau joins label head Josh Butler to remix Richy Ahmed’s ‘Jammin’ EP, set for release in late April.
Building on the original production’s infectious vocal hooks and skipping percussion arrangements, Butler’s interpretation of ‘Jammin’ sees the label boss accent the production’s rich, piano chords with sweeping synths and his signature drums, before Ben Rau’s remix of ‘Sweat’ takes charge as hypnotic acid-tinged bass patterns, soaring lead lines and precise, rolling organic percussion licks combine to reveal a cut perfect for both the peak time and the afterhours.
