Jay Antonym & Cesar Caballero – Andante EP

Jay Antonym & Cesar Caballero drop four original cuts on Groove Garden for their ‘Andante’ EP this November.

The talented duo Jay Antonym & Cesar Caballero return to Groove Garden once more following their successful ‘Forgotten Dreams’ EP which gleaned major support from big names like Larry Heard, Mr G, Stacey Pullen & Miguel Campbell. For their second outing together Jay and Groove Garden head honcho Cesar deliver four robust originals that each offer something a little different, all the while seamlessly dancing between the lines of groove-laden house and techno.

Title track ‘Andante’ is a melodic slow burner effortlessly crafted over oscillating percussion and tumbling bass tones to culminate in a warm and trundling techno cut. ‘Afterwards’ takes things somewhat deeper with submerged atmospherics, soft pads and punchy kicks while the cosmic vibes of ‘Past Tense’ meander ghostly synths and infectious drums in a hypnotic house rhythm. As the EP draws to a close ‘Sun Day’ round things off in fine form with a sublime juxtaposition of pounding drums and soft chords that combine to deliver a deep and dynamic end.
