Jay Zoney is back and has brought us something from another dimension on his latest two track EP. Jay has carved out a reputation with peak our roof burners, but ‘Analog’ takes a different approach. His signature methods of morphing grooves is applied to a more minimal template. At their core Analog and Filtered Out are raw jacking, tracky workouts. Both tracks are stripped down to their vital components… that classic sound of TR 808 and TR-909 drum machines and simple, repetitive analog grooves combine to create tracks that are infectious and compelling, but meaty enough to keep the heads interested too. ‘Analog’ works a wriggling analog line over a simple bass line all secured to a solid 808 anchor. ‘Filtered Out’ is no compromise, deep in darkness Techno. These are high-iron, high-fibre supplements for discerning DJ crates.
