Rawthentic co-founder Carlo Lio, returns to the imprint on a solo venture to release his two-track EP ‘Jeffrey’s Blues’ in June.
Helming Rawthentic alongside Nathan Barato, Canadian producer Carlo Lio can reflect on a discography that includes leading platforms like SCI+TEC, Bedrock Records, MOOD, Desolat, Intec Digital and Saved. Based between Toronto and Barcelona, Carlo’s fine repute has seen him perform all over the world and this summer will see him DJ at a series of Paradise Ibiza events when not making frequent festival appearances.
‘Jeffrey’s Blues’ delivers a medley of twisted percussion and a rumbling low-end before a resonating vocal takes centre stage, generating an intense atmosphere as the vox enters periods of distortion. ‘Hustla’s, Pimp’s & Mac’s’ rounds off the package with a heavy, modulated bass line, crunchy arpeggiated synths and filtered voices that chant the track title – the result is an uncompromising roller.
Carlo Lio’s ‘Jeffrey’s Blues’ drops on Rawthentic on 15th June 2018.
