Jodie Harsh unleashes new single, ‘The Night Is Yours’
London DJ/producer, party starter & author Jodie Harsh kicks off a new chapter with her electrifying new single, ‘The Night Is Yours’ – a deep, propulsive offering that marks a refined new direction in her sound.
‘The Night Is Yours’ is a celebration of self-expression and hedonistic joy. A diamond-sharp pumper that updates vogue house for now with lashings of 90s Euro-dance/trance, meanwhile its fierce vocal is a sassy call to action.
“I’ve always wanted a proper call-to-action track, something with a commanding, diva-driven vocal that grabs you by the collar and drags you straight onto the dancefloor. The moment I heard this speech, I knew it was the message I needed to put out into the world.” says Jodie. “‘The Night Is Yours’ is a reminder to forget the chaos outside for a minute, to lose yourself, to move, to lock in with the people around you and actually feel something again.”
Already teased during Jodie’s recent B2B set with Eats Everything at La Discotheque at Drumsheds, ‘The Night Is Yours’ has garnered early support from Gorgon City, Jamie Jones, Jaguar, I. JORDAN and more. Jodie’s new single arrives as the first taste of a broader body of work exploring a refreshed sonic identity.
Jodie had standout live performances at LIDO Festival, Parklife, Creamfields, Pacha last Summer, as well as opening for Kylie Minogue on her sold-out UK and European legs for her Tension Tour. Next month, Jodie will open for Fatboy Slim’s Acid Ballroom Tour at Alexandra Palace before a run of Summer festival dates, including an anticipated return to the Mighty Hoopla stage, with more dates TBA.
A DJ, producer, partystarter, queer icon and now author, Jodie Harsh has worn many hats (and wigs) over the course of her two-decade career in clubs, always at the forefront of culture and carving out her own lane. Jodie’s independent and major-label releases have amassed over 40 million streams, whilst her trademark blonde beehive and DJ sets have made Jodie a clubbing icon, not just in London but around the world. Instantly recognisable, that iconic silhouette can be found DJing on festival mainstages, warehouse raves, Fashion Week parties, and A-list events. She continues to curate exciting lineups for her weekly club night, Feel It, which has arrived at its new home at London’s XOYO, marking a new era for the queer super party. Previous acts that have stepped behind the decks at Feel It, include dance heavyweights The Blessed Madonna, Fatboy Slim, Eats Everything, Tiga, HAAi, Saoirse, Midland, as well as club culture’s new-gen Confidence Man, Salute and TSHA.
Last year marked the release of Jodie’s debut memoir, You Had To Be There. The book is a thrilling retrospective of London club culture from the early 2000s to its crescendo in 2011. You Had To Be There details Jodie’s firsthand experience of London’s nightlife and the club scene she’s since been part of.
Known for her iconic presence in London nightlife and her crossover success in dance music, Jodie continues to push her sound forward, while keeping the heart of club culture at the centre. New single ‘The Night Is Yours’ ushers in a new musical era for Jodie, as she continues to dominate dancefloors globally with her unmistakable aesthetic and genre-blurring club sound.
