Let’s see now … ‘Pacific’, ‘Balearic’, ‘Airscape’, rolling surf, crashing waves – yep, reckon we’ve got a summer wonder on our hands!
Airscape’s ‘Pacific Melody’ is one of those genre classics that, either by luck or judgement escaped re-release overload. For its first official outing in many a moon, Johan Gielen’s turned the keys over to English producer Kryder. With reworks of Chicane’s ‘Saltwater’ and ‘Offshore’, Solarstone’s ‘When I Dream’ and York’s ‘On The Beach’ already under his belt, it’s fair to say he has a knack for Balearic!
For ‘Pacific Melody’, Kryder’s opened the artistic lens that bit wider to create a remix with touchstones that imaginatively reach both pre-and-post Johan’s original.
In terms of its title, ‘Balearic Breaks Mix’ captures much of its nature, as Kryder wafts that Med essence, while using powerful 4/4 kicks to amp its breaks. Yearning sub-melodies, feelgood Italo-house piano and the transportive power of ‘Pacific Melody’s halcyon vocal cry all ensure its hot-season feels are laid bedrock-deep.
The Balearic Breaks Mix of ‘Pacific Melody’ is available to stream or buy from today. You can get a hold of it through this link https://blackhole.lnk.to/pacificrmx ! No summer’s gonna be complete without it!
