John Digweed, Nick Muir & Franky Wah join forces on new EP

John Digweed and studio partner Nick Muir have teamed up with the prolific DJ & producer Franky Wah on the amazing new EP Tripchain / Scanalatura, out via Bedrock Records on 8th September

Combining the considerable strengths of three renowned producer/DJs, the tracks on EP have been road tested with great results. ‘Tripchain’ is a cool driving groove, bolstered by trademark anthemic synths and percussion. By contrast, ‘Scanalatura’ takes a slightly darker approach, layering deep hypnotic grooves and melodies to powerful effect.

John Digweed has also just announced that Bedrock Records, his iconic forward thinking label, will celebrate a major milestone with its first ever day party at XOYO London on 1st October. It marks 25 years since the launch of the original Monthly London parties at Heaven, with a daytime party at the renowned XOYO in London running from 3pm to 10pm. The party also coincides with John Digweed’s 1000th Transitions Radio show, and the event will be recorded for a future broadcast on the show.

John Digweed is a DJ’s DJ. The beauty of what he does lies in just how different he really is from his contemporaries. From his early beginnings in the blossoming scene of acid house to the apex of the international DJ’ing world he has created and maintained a level of integrity that is the benchmark for both dj’s and producers globally. In fact, he has reached the very top of his profession, being voted #1 in a voter’s poll by DJ Magazine in 2001.

His list of achievements is groundbreaking to say the least. Highlights of which would be the first official DJ mix compilation (“The Mix Collection”, with Sasha), being the first British DJ to hold a residency at what was then the world’s most well known club in NYC Twilo as well as having remixed some of the biggest bands alongside studio partner Nick Muir. Over 60 official Mix CD compilations released and coming up to 1000 Transitions worldwide Weekly radio shows, reaching over 14 million a week in over 60 countries a real testament to John commitment to showcasing new music every.

Digweed’s studio partner and fellow Bedrock collaborator Nick Muir is a renowned and highly respected artist and DJ. Nick has been writing and producing dance music since 1990, notably as John Digweed’s production partner in the Bedrock project but he is well known as a DJ/producer in his own right. There have been countless other productions and remixes over the years including mixes for New Order, Underworld and The Orb. To this day Nick is an in demand producer of club music and is releasing as much music now as ever, on labels such as Mashtronic, Renaissance and of course the eponymous Bedrock.

A truly contemporary artist, Franky Wah’s music epitomises the exhilarating power of club culture. Born and raised in Yorkshire, in the north of England, Franky has an intuitive understanding of emotion, dance floor energy and catchy hooks culminating in a sound that resonates with both the underground and commercial ends of the dance music spectrum. A series of chart-topping releases have catapulted him into the public eye, where he’s picked up a dedicated fanbase, as well as backing from his peers and idols. This includes a glittering endorsement from Pete Tong who tipped Franky as one of his Future Stars for 2020 and regular spins on Radio 1 from Annie Mac, Danny Howard and Mistajam, as well as running his own label SHEN Recordings.

Bringing together three world-renowned visionaries in John Digweed, Nick Muir and Franky Wah, Tripchain / Scanalatura is a thrilling journey through melodic house to cap off the summer.
