A remarkable collaborative effort by Manchester based DJs and producers Jon Craig and Samuel Cawley, ‘Out of the Blue 2015’ is set to be released on the 26th of January, 2015. A remake of the classic ‘Out of the Blue’ by System F, this single is a revamped, modernised version of the unforgettable original production. It’s a big undertaking, but with the rich resumes such as that of Jon Craig and Samuel Cawley, the risk to skilfully rework such an all time-classic is something they’re more than capable of.
‘Out of the Blue 2015’ merges together all of Jon Craig’s and Samuel Cawley’s skills, talents and experience creating a unique fusion of diverse dance music genres, masterfully put together into one track to propose a fresh outlook on System F’s hit. Starting immediately with an open, reverb-filled melodic spectacle, the production moves into a rhythmic melodic segment, driven by a harder, uplifting lead synth sound and a punchy drum groove. A euphoric build-up leads to a massive bass-infused drop. The synths become more vicious and pair up with a high impact drum beat and substantial bass line. The track shifts into a mellower mood, re-proposing the dreamy main melody, to then pump it up once more with some filter variations, offering a rousing twist to previous slices of the rework. ‘Out of the Blue 2015’ is beyond a doubt a noteworthy reconstruction of the original by two highly creative minds, who have managed to give a classic a more than welcome brush up into 2015.
Jon Craig is already charging up the food chain both as a DJ and producer. Starting his DJing profession in the underground scene in Manchester, he has quickly expanded his boundaries playing sets around the world in: Ibiza, Mallorca, and the USA. As a producer, Jon Craig was an instant sensation, hitting peak positions on Beatport charts and enjoying massive support with his very first release ‘When The World Begun’. His career took off quickly and has since seen him release records via premier labels, reaching as high as #7 on Beatport’s ‘Progressive House chart’ and holding the position of Head Producer and Engineer, collaborating with massive artists at Castle Rock Studios.
The second half of this collective project, Samuel Cawley, can also boast a very solid resume. Dropping beats for some of the world’s most renowned clubs, brands and venues such as: Sankeys, Cream, Zoo Ibiza, Ocean Beach’s Pearl, Egg London, Delano’s Beach, Bowlers Manchester, Static, MOS, Es Paradis, Hush, Play 2, Spooned, Viva, and Querky amongst other, Samuel Cawley has established himself as a DJ on the rise. On the production side, Samuel Cawley has had his tracks released through renowned labels such as Influence Recordings, and 000 Recordings.
