UK-based songwriter-composer-producer, Jonny Spalding has shared a new single ‘Hole In My Heart’, out September 25th via Talk Talk Talk/Ditto Music
The new track features UK soul powerhouse Sharlene Hector (Basement Jaxx, Sam Sparro) providing vocals over a track rooted in classic house music to deliver a heart-break post-Summer anthem.
Produced with collaborator Hugh Fothergill, Hole In My Heart is an up-tempo high-energy track, evoking classic 90’s house tunes as well as recent UK chart-toppers from Joel Corry & Topic.
Following up from his recent debut single, Break Me, Jonny has received growing buzz on his production and songwriting from respected music-bloggers Music Crowns, The Noise Gate, Mystic Sons as well as his production-heroes The Nextmen.
As a co-founder and main songwriter for London’s 2-Tone/Ska/Reggae outfit, The Kubricks, Jonny was the creative force behind two critically acclaimed albums (2015’s Wasters & Wannabes & 2017’s The Heist) which spawned rave reviews, BBC and commercial radio support and high-profile festival slots alongside The Skints and UB40 as well as memorable slots at Boomtown
After working with a number of upcoming artists, 2020 sees the launch of Jonny’s solo music with his first project, EP ‘Community’. Due later this year. ‘Community’ brings together a diverse group musicians to feature on new compositions written by Jonny, including Folk-Singer Songwriter Emma Ballantine, Soulful J Appiah, Jazz Trumpeter Freddie Gavita and Gospel power-house Sharlene Hector.
