JORIS DELACROIX - JORIS DELACROIX – MOVINGS

‘Movings’, the brand new EP from the French Deep/Tech House phenomenon Joris Delacroix, is out now via Universal Music France’s Pantheon imprint.

With ‘Movings’, Delacroix invites us on a rich musical journey, with each track delving into different sub-genres, producing a truly multifaceted overall sound.  The EP is an exploration into different styles and textures that give it both a freedom and continuous energy. Kicking things off with a bang, the first track ‘Backinbizness’ blends an infectious combination of funk and rock, giving the track all the hallmarks of a summer festival hit. As a special accompaniment, an interactive Backinbizness experience is also available for desktop and smart phone users.

‘All That Fuss’, the second cut from the EP, relaxes the vibe into a mesmeric and soulful deep house jam. The sensual vocals layered with ‘daft-punk esque’ vocoders and atmospheric synths produce an end-of-the-night groove sure to keep revellers dancing until the lights come on. Next up, ‘Haters and Lovers’ explores a more progressive timbre, with the vocal sample “peace love, in times loneliness/war” blended perfectly into the mix to great effect.

In true testament to its name, ‘Courage’, the penultimate track on Delacroix’s EP, ignites a sense of duty to accomplish something daring and dangerous. Treating us to an eclectic blend of big room synths and luscious pads, Delacroix takes us into the realm of trance, with a thumping kick drum and a syncopated pulsating bass that drives the track onwards and upwards for its entirety. From here, the EP changes direction for the last time with ‘Condescendence’, a brooding and dark techno record that demands the listener’s attention. Starting with deep sustained bass notes overlaid with playful arpeggiated melodic riffs, the track builds and changes over its 8-minute duration, diving in and out of different forms of electronica before slowly peeling away to the close.

At 25 years of age, Joris Delacroix has already cemented his position as one of the most talented and sought after producers around. Now, with the release of this outstanding EP on the esteemed Pantheon imprint, and an upcoming European summer tour, the future is looking very bright for this young Frenchman.
