Josh Baker Launches New Label ‘Baker’s Dozen’ with Electrifying Single ‘Back It Up’ Featuring Omar+

Today (Friday 21st March) Manchester-based DJ/Producer Josh Baker launches his own Baker’s Dozen imprint with the much anticipated ‘Back It Up’, enlisting the help of rising London producer and vocalist Omar+.

Having permeated in the clubs and on TikTok for nearly six months, ‘Back It Up’ masterfully blends Josh’s staple bass-heavy, minimal house sound with Omar’s R&B-leaning vocals, and has amassed over 5000 organic creations on the platforms, going some way to demonstrating how hyped this ID has become. Having been in the hands of only a few DJs until now, the likes of Chris Stussy, Solomun, Marco Carola, Jamie Jones, MK and Prospa have seen crowds sing every word back during their sets despite it remaining unreleased.

Speaking on the release, Josh Baker says:

Kicking off my 2025 releases with a bang—welcoming the birth of my new label. It’s time for Back It Up.”

Discussing how the collaboration came together, Omar+ shares:

My friend Bianca, who did the vocals for some of Josh’s tunes, invited me to his show in London. It was an insane set, and I got to meet Josh afterward. The next day, I sent him some music, which he liked—Back It Up stood out to him, and he asked me to send him the stems. He reproduced the beat, keeping some of my synths in, and within 24 hours, we had a banger. After that, I started seeing videos everywhere of Josh playing our tune and the crowd loving it—definitely a surreal feeling”

‘Back It Up’ is Josh’s first release since winning DJ Mag’s Breakthrough Producer of Year 2024 award and finishing up as Beatport’s most-sold artist in the Minimal/Deep Tech genre. Moving into 2025, Josh was named one of BBC Radio 1’s Future Stars and Dancing Astronaut’s Ones to Watch.

Founder of music education platform SYNTHO, Josh is gearing up for a jam-packed 2025 of shows, starting with a standout performance at Miami Music Week, where he’ll take the stage at iconic venues Space and Factory Town. With an Australia tour to follow in April, this summer he’ll take his signature sound back to Ibiza, where he will return to DC10 for Circoloco with many more announcements to follow. Additionally, Josh will headline the opening party at Hi Ibiza and host a special one-off You&Me event at 528 Ibiza. With a schedule packed with high-profile gigs, Josh continues to solidify his status as one of electronic music’s most in-demand artists.

Blending new-school RnB vocals with bumping house and UKG flavors, Omar+ is an electronic artist and DJ/producer carving out his own lane. Influenced by Brandy, SWV, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and Drake, as well as his Punjabi and Gujarati heritage, his sound is shaped by late-night trips to Mumbai and the underground energy of London clubs like fabric and Phonox. Working with UKG producer Silva Bumpa, he fuses hypnotic rhythms with genre-blurring production, drawing inspiration from Chris Stussy, KETTAMA, and PinkPantheress. With over 2M streams on tracks like ‘Lights’ and ‘AfterParty’, his DIY Planet Plus house parties are building a loyal fanbase. Also a model, having featured in JD Sports and London Fashion Week, Omar+ is an innovative artist to watch in 2025, with new music and live performances on the horizon.
