A meteoric master of quality tech house grooves, Josh Baker reveals his hugely-anticipated slick new single, ‘Bass Up To The Top’, out on 27th September via Chaos Records/Polydor.

The track follows an insanely stacked summer of shows for the in-demand Mancunian, including sets in Ibiza and the US, and at festivals such as Spain’s minimal mecca Sunwaves (sunrise set), Manchester’s Parklife, and to a whopping 30,000 fans at Creamfields (clip HERE).

Moving low and slow, ‘Bass Up To The Top’ is a loose minimal track that captures Josh Baker’s adored sleazy and sassy production style and DJ sets. Baker leaves plenty of room in the low end for the subtle bass to shine, then throws in mid-range acid squelches, synth bleeps and a catchy looping vocal refrain to tie it all together.

2024 is shaping up to be the artist’s most pivotal year yet. In June, Baker (200K+ monthly streams) released the techy ‘Something To Me’, a cute synth-soaked house adaptation of SWV’s 1992 R&B hit ‘Weak’. Clearly a hit among house heads, it’s now cruising towards a massive 2,000,000 Spotify streams.

The year’s far from over, however, upon the release of ‘Bass Up To The Top’ on 27th September, Josh will be going back-to-back with the incredible Chris Stussy at Circus Liverpool, followed by a B2B with veteran Enzo Siragusa  at The Warehouse Project. He’s not done there, though. Josh is then set to embark on a  Headline tour across the UK, Europe and the US throughout October & November, with 19 dates across some major key cities such as;  London, Amsterdam, San Francisco, Nottingham, Edinburgh, Leeds & More. Josh Baker, who curates Hide & Seek Festival and has his own production course called Syntho Hub, kicked the year off with a huge EP release in January on Constant Sound titled ‘Sometimes Cap’. This is a four-track excursion through deep minimal instrumental-focussed grooves. In February and August this year, he released two fun-loving retro sample-laden EPs on his own label, You&Me, ‘Handle This’ and ‘Jam Is Pumping’. In May, he played FUSE’s third day takeover at the first ever edition of High Lights festival in North London alongside the likes of Shonky, Sweely and Voigtmann. He followed this by hosting his renowned You&Me Open Air event in May, which takes place every year in his hometown of Manchester, and this year featured underground heroes like Raresh and Traumer. Then in June, Josh took the party to Barcelona as part of OFF Barcelona, hosting two You&Me events that included sets from UKG specialist Dr Banana, Rossi and the mighty Sweely.

‘Bass Up To The Top’ is another low-slung sassy house hit from Josh Baker, who has has an acute ability to – in his distinctly cool and calm fashion – get dancefloors moving in no time. Strap in as Josh Baker takes house music for a ride.
