Josh Baker Returns With Deep, Mesmerising New Jam ‘Leave A Message’ Ft Poppy Wright & Trick Shady

Today (29th August), Manchester-based DJ/producer Josh Baker returns with the second release on his new label Baker’s Dozen, ‘Leave A Message’ featuring rising vocal talent Poppy Wright and leftfield rapper Trick Shady. 

‘Leave A Message’ is a typically slick, deep house-leaning cut built around hypnotic chords and Poppy Wright’s dreamy topline vocals. Fellow Mancunion Trick Shady’s unique spoken-word verse adds a late-night dimension to the track, resulting in a bold and captivating follow-up that’s been doing damage all summer in Josh’s DJ sets.

“This tune’s been a massive moment in all my sets lately,” says Josh. “The crowd reaction has been unreal at festivals, from DC10 to Creamfields. Poppy’s vocal completely transformed the idea, and Trick came through with that special final touch. It’s a proper trip.”

The release arrives at a landmark moment for Baker, who has just delivered an immediate sell out for his biggest London headline show to date at the stunning 4000 capacity Magazine – taking place on 25th October. It follows the equally rapid sell-out of the 10-year anniversary event of his much-loved label and party brand You&Me, taking place across 3 rooms on 27th September at The Warehouse Project in Manchester – a 10,000-capacity show that sold out in under 25 minutes, cementing Baker’s status as one of the UK’s most in-demand names in electronic music currently.

‘Leave A Message’ follows the launch of his new label Baker’s Dozen and the chart-dominating ‘Back It Up’ — which spent 12 weeks in the UK Official Singles Chart and amassed over 25 million streams. He followed that up with ‘You Don’t Own Me’, a peak-time anthem created alongside close friends and regular B2B partners Prospa, earning him further UK Top 100 chart success. Baker also made headlines with a recent stage shutdown at Parklife Festival, delivered four sets across Glastonbury for his debut at the iconic festival, turned heads with a standout closing set at his very own Hide&Seek Festival, and made his BBC Radio 1 debut with a month-long residency, while also stepping in to host Pete Tong’s iconic Friday night show, marking another milestone.

Josh has also made a significant impact in Ibiza this summer, playing peak time slots and headline performances at pretty much every notable party on the island. Playing DC-10, Hï Ibiza, UNVRS and Amnesia to name a few – his performances have lit up billboards, solidifying his arrival as one of the island’s key players from the new generation of leading headline talent.
