Julia Poly - Julia Poly – Looking For You

After taking the Middle Eastern club scene by storm in 2009, Ukrainian, currently Dubai based DJ and producer Julia Poly is now following up with a series of top-notch releases. Out now on Beatport is her latest effort ‘Looking For You’, a two-track offering, including the original mix and a remix by Max Vertigo and SevenEver.

Having conquered the Ukrainian Dance music world Julia Poly started expanding her audience reach by featuring as a guest at the world famous House party Hedkandi at Pacha in Egypt, later leading to a full-time career in Dubai, where she now resides. After exploring the DJing world for so long, Julia Poly has now shifted her focus onto pursuing the search for her own musical voice.

Following the success achieved with her debut project ‘Live & Die in L.A.’, she is now presenting her second production by the name of ‘Looking For You’, already boasting support from the likes of: Joao Ribeiro, Libert, Niki Belucci, Niko Rivera, Demetrio Fonseca, Anton D’Janeiro and David Sainz amongst many others.

The original mix kicks off with a fresh, percussive House groove, featuring uplifting Conga rhythms and later a deep kick to intensify the mood. A series of vocal effects introduce a Funky synth melody, which drives the ascension into a mesmerising main section. Deep House vibes are on constant display, tightly controlled by smartly managed dynamics and song sectioning whilst Julia Poly devises numerous variations to the lead section, unleashing effects and filtering to spice it up, making ‘Looking For You’ a summery wonder.

On the other hand Max Vertigo and SevenEver propose a different viewpoint with their exhilarating remix. A harder groove takes prominence in this rework, whilst building on the House aura established in the original. The duo makes major touches to the vocals to come up with a powerful, diverse rendition to perfectly compliment the original mix.

Heavenly Bodies Records have been behind Julia Poly since the very start and have now extended their support to her freshest production as well. The brainchild of Alejandro Cacciola, better known by his moniker DiscoRocks, the imprint has been on a strong run since 2010 and has developed from a compilation-only label into a fully-fledged trendsetting label.

In less than 5 years the Miami based label has managed to pile up over 200 EPs including productions and remixes of heavyweight names such as: Vanilla Ace, Andrey Exx, 5prite, Groovebox, Yamil, Jelly For The Babies, Marcelo Vak, Kovary, Fabian Argomedo, Shane D and Alex Ander to name a few. Julia Poly’s highly original work and her industrious work ethic will surely play an important role to Heavenly Bodies Records’ further rise in the years ahead.
