The next release on Ronnie Spiteri’s Kenja Records sees the label founder drop two energetic floorfillers with Liverpool’s Kydus providing a remix.
The budding Southampton-based producer launched Kenja Records merely a year ago and has been regularly putting out a steady stream of his own dancefloor-focused house since. Groove Armada, Darius Syrossian, Dubfire, Riva Starr, Huxley and DJ Sneak have all shown support, whilst the likes of Roger ‘S-Man’ Sanchez’s Undr The Radr, Darius Syrossian’s Do Not Sleep and Mark Knight’s Toolroom have signed Spiteri’s material to their renowned imprints.
Built on a purring low-end, ‘Jump On’ delivers open hats, crunchy snares and echoing stabs, before ‘Back To Basics’ drops an infectious looped sample alongside dusky atmospherics and shuffling percussion. Finally, Kydus reimagines ‘Jump On’ by transforming it into a synth-focused rendition that continues to evolve over its seven and a half minute duration.
Ronnie Spiteri ‘Jump On’ EP drops on Kenja Records on 27th April 2016.
