J£zus Million – Error EP
Prodigious Boston beatmaker J£ZUS MILLION is set to release a brand new EP on burgeoning UK label The Full Hundred. The Error EP is due out on 8th December 2014 and features 3 original tracks alongside 3 arresting remixes.
J£zus Million, or 20 year-old Joseph Zucco to his friends, began to turn heads last year when his debut single ‘Illusions Of’ featuring global pop sensation Charli XCX dropped on Double Denim. He quickly followed this up with his acclaimed Cold Shoulder mixtape which featured the sweet vocal talents of YADi and Chicago drill rap princess Sasha Go Hard, and went on to produce several tracks on Miss XCX’s acclaimed debut album.
A self-professed suburban boy with influences from Philip Glass to Gucci Mane via Bjork and Brian Eno; Joe’s music was described by the Guardian as “not so much chopped and screwed as chopped and chilled” (New Band of the Day). His sterling productions have also drawn praise from the likes of Pitchfork, Noisey and DAZED, who called his music “R&B scattered with pockets of light”, while FACT have drawn favorable comparisons to Rustie and Two Inch Punch.
The forthcoming Error EP opens with ‘Taught To Run’, a disquieting synth line building in intensity over an icy hip hop beat and disembodied vocal fragments. The high energy ‘If You Forget’ rumbles and escalates, peppered with bubbling melodic flourishes, while ‘Exile’ melds oriental rhythms with a pitched down vocal and pounding percussion for a heady finale. Remixes come courtesy of Magical Mistakes, Patrick Brian and Taquwami.
With a number of high profile collaborations in the pipeline you can bet that you’ll be hearing a lot more from Mr Million in 2015 and beyond.
