KCPK - KCPK – Five To One

French electronic trio KCPK have announced the release of their new single ‘Five To One’, set for release under [PIAS] on 29th June.

As an integral part of the Rémoise scene, KCPK have been an important force in French electronic music for a number of years. The scene revolves around a number of talented acts from the city of Reims, who include artists such as Brodinksi, Yuksek and The Shoes.

The group are all frequent collaborators within Parisian nightlife, and KCPK regularly performed under the PANIK banner of parties, which has hosted artists as diverse and eminent as Laurent Garnier, Groove Armada, Amon Tobin, and Andrew Wetherall. KCPK have also collaborated in the past by creating unique experiences with The Chemical Brothers, Two Door Cinema Club, and Woodkid.

Their latest single ‘Five To One’ fuses their brand of new-wave electro production with classic hip-hop vocals and beats. Contrasting crisp production on the verses with spacey, anthemic choruses, ‘Five To One’ is a brilliantly balanced track with a high-energy beat.

The single features three remixes, first from Hudson Mohawke labelmate, S-Type, who drops the pace with a bass-heavy trap rework. Up next is Hilly Dilly-approved producer Clarens, who also opts for a stuttering trap rhythm, but impresses with his use of smooth R&B harmonies throughout.

The final mix comes from French Touch legend Demon, who has previously remixed Daft Punk, Mr. Oizo and Matthew Herbert. His contribution here is a dancefloor bomb that makes use of chopped samples typical of his style, alongside heavily beefed-up basslines.

With support coming from such incredible musicians at various stages of their career, it is clear that KCPK’s sound is one that inspires – be sure to check out ‘Five To One’ to see why.
