Kevin McKay & Norman Doray Team Up For ‘Let Me Work On You’

Glasgow Underground boss Kevin McKay continues a fine run of quality house music releases as he teams up with highly respected French house producer Norman Doray to deliver a sublime, peak time piano groove ‘Let Me Work On You’. The uplifting track cuts up Sharon Brown’s classic ‘I Specialize In Love’ turning the melodies into one of this summer’s stand out releases.

Glasgow Underground has a long-standing connection to French house through early releases with Romanthony and Kevin McKay spent a lot of time in Paris where he met artists like Daft Punk, Pedro Winter, Lauren Garnier and fell in love with the French sound. This latest collaboration is the next step, drawing on those influences to create a track with a contemporary sound alongside a classic French house feel.

Norman Doray began his career as part of the next wave of French talent towards the end of the noughties and has consistently made an impact with his own brand of big room house, landing on notable labels including Size, Strictly Rhythm, Positiva, Polydor, Spinnin Deep, Club Sweat and many more. He turned to Glasgow Underground with the original idea for ‘Let Me Work On You’ knowing that Kevin McKay has successfully turned classic tracks into big house hits, most recently the likes of ‘Hit The Road Jack’, ‘Deeper Underground’, ‘Such A Good Feeling’ (with Earth n Days), ‘Work It’, ‘Ain’t Nothin’ Goin On But The Rent’ among many others.

Sharon Brown’s ‘I Specialize In Love’ was a massive track in the US club scene and tipped into the UK national charts in 1982. In this new version, Kevin McKay and Norman Doray have pulled out all the elements which make a quality house track. The vocal is instantly hooky and loops in irresistible fashion over summery, uplifting piano chords which filter in and out, in that warm, French house style. The bassline delivers disco flavours and an 80’s sound while the drums are guaranteed to get everyone onto the dancefloor.

This is feelgood house music destined to become a classic all of its own.
