Simon Shaw’s fast growing Sense Traxx imprint sees the return of Tommy Vercetti’s summer anthem ‘Killa’, this time featuring three remixes by Click Click, Cal Johnstone, and Ian Jay & Matt Williams.
Manilla’s ‘Janet’ kicked off Sense Traxx earlier this year before releases from Julyan Dubson, Kalyde & Youth, and South Royston cemented the label at the forefront of the UK house scene. Support from key tastemakers like Annie Mac and a number one spot on Traxsource add to the label’s glowing reputation.
Making his debut on Sense Traxx back in June, the Eton Messy and Simma Red artist, Tommy Vercetti, provided an explosive dose of straight talking tech house with his original track ‘Killa’. A heavy cut of four-to-the-floor rhythms dressed in summer-inspired piano chords, ‘Killa’ has since been reworked by three new artists for the latest Sense Traxx release.
First up is Cajual and OM Records artist Click Click, who provides ‘Killa’ with some breathing space thanks to sparkling synth arrangements and spacious crowd ambience. Up next is the highly accomplished production duo of Ian Jay & Matt William whose fifteen-year experience brings an earth-shattering rendition that utilises simplicity to thunderous affect. It’s then left to Criminal Hype and Love Not Money artist Cal Johnstone who injects pumping low-end alongside heavily filtered atmospherics and bubbling edits of the original’s vocal cuts – all before Tommy Vercetti’s original reappears.
The ‘Killa (Remixes) EP drops 4th November on Sense Traxx.
