Following on from his debut hit Real Joy, which was heavily supported by the likes of Annie Mac, Todd Edwards and Zane Lowe, and the impeccable follow up Everybody Knows, Brighton producer Fono is releasing his debut 5track EP ‘Kinetic’ on Polydor Records.
Opening track CLOUD 9 provides a smooth introduction to the EP with reverbed female vocals from Australian singer, E^ST whose vocals float on top of modulating piano melodies and house beats, with Fono’s signature synth sounds later entering the track. The more uptempo Feet On The Ground is armed with bouncy synth chords, clubfacing beats and soaring female vocals, playing true testament to the EP’s title.
Levitate is an amalgamation of catchy hihats, booming bass lines and jumpy synth melodies, whilst NRG is punctuated by buzzy synth chords which compliment the pitched down vocals and drive the track as the infectious synth hooks push it over the edge into a plethora of infectious club grooves. Providing a polished finale to the EP, final track Light Up features the male vocals of D/C whose smooth vocals provide the perfect counterpoint to the lowend grooves.
