Klangkarussell featuring Will Heard’s ‘Sonnentanz (The Sun Don’t Shine)’ is the deep house anthem that bears all the hallmarks of becoming one of this summer’s biggest dance hits.
Originally an instrumental that first bubbled away on the underground late last year before becoming a No.1 singles chart and radio airplay hit across Europe, ‘Sonnentanz’ is the work of Austrian house duo, Klangkarussell aka Tobias Rieser and Adrian Held. To date, the instrumental has amassed over 25 million views on YouTube.
Early radio plays of the original come courtesy of Radio 1 stalwarts Zane Lowe, Rob da Bank, Danny Howard and beyond, with DJ support from Pete Tong, Jamie Jones, Avicii, Sven Vath, Luciano, Maya Jane Coles, Claude Von Stroke, Tiesto and many more.
‘Sonnentanz’ now features a killer vocal from 21 year old British rising star, Will Heard, the hotly tipped singer/musician gaining recognition for his blend of jazz, folk and soul. Having taken time out to travel through Cuba, Argentina and Brazil, Will returned to the UK last year and signed a publishing deal with Trevor Horn’s Perfect Song. He’s recently been in the studio writing and recording new material with the likes of Billy Mann (P!nk John Legend), Justin Parker (Lana Del Rey, Rihanna, Ellie Goulding), Baby Daddy (Scissor Sisters, Kylie Minogue), and Future Cut (Lily Allen, Rizzle Kicks). The vocal version was premiered on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show and will be released on 4th August via Island Records.
Remixes come from Jakwob, Ben Pearce and more.
