French hitmaker Kungs has unveiled his brand new single, ‘Never Going Home’, taken from his forthcoming new album due out later this year.
A fresh, feel-good house jam, ‘Never Going Home’ combines slick vocals, glistening synths and an infectious bassline, delivering a track that’s brimming with summer energy. The music video for Kungs’ new single was shot at Cercle des Nageurs in the Frenchman’s hometown of Marseille. Adopting the high spirit of his popular Club Azur livestreams, the vivacious clip brings ‘Never Going Home’ to life.
Kungs was one of the first electronic artists to set up a regular festive and united virtual gathering, operating under the name Club Azur. Every Saturday night, Valentin and his childhood friend, Victor Soulisse takeover Le Sacré in Paris and transform the venue into their Club Azur world, delivering guest appearances from fellow French DJ’s Martin Solveig, Bob Sinclar and Myd, as well as YouTubers, Comedians, Chefs and more via Kungs’ Twitch and Zoom platforms.
A shining star in the modern French electronic scene, Kungs boasts more than 2 billion streams across his back catalogue, with huge global hit ‘This Girl’ reaching #1 in 45 countries. In the UK, the single has sold over 1.5 million copies, is certified double platinum and peaked at #2 on the official chart. His debut album, Layers has sold over 1.2 million copies around the world and received a coveted French Grammy while, more recently, his remix of Dua Lipa’s global hit ‘Don’t Start Now’ has clocked up over 10 million Spotify streams. Marking his first release of the new year, ‘Never Going Home’ follows his 2020 single ‘Dopamine’ featuring UK singer-songwriter Jay Hart.
His first single release of 2021, ‘Never Going Home’ not only further cements Kungs’ status as a legend of French dance music but gives listeners an exciting taste of what’s to come from his much-anticipated second album.
