LA-based artist Olovson unveils new single ‘THINGS I COULD’VE LEFT BEHIND’

Revered LA-based composer Jacob Olofsson a.k.a. Olovson has returned after a two-year hiatus with a new single titled ‘THINGS I COULD’VE LEFT BEHIND’, released on September 26, 2025 via his imprint 1136 Diamond. In addition to his captivating career as a composer, he is also a Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum-selling producer who has worked with artists and industry mammoths such as Frank Ocean, Dua Lipa, Mark Ronson, Diplo, Silk City and Camila Cabello.

Olovson’s music boasts over 3 million streams across platforms, with his debut album Storytelling (2022) in particular receiving notable support from industry publications Wonderland Magazine, PopMatters, Creative Boom, CLASH Magazine, Rolling Stone India, METAL Magazine, NOTION Magazine, Creative Boom and Stereofox, among others. On the radio, it has aired on National radio stations BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio 6, NTS Radio, and Worldwide FM. His track The Beginning’ has recently gained traction on Deezer and peaked in France, while his single ‘Books Are Flying’ was featured in the SHOWTIME series The Man Who Fell to Earth. Additionally, the video for his single, ‘Gyroscope’ (original) was included in the official selections for BAFTA qualifying festivals Encounters Film Festival, London International Film Festival, and the London Short Film Festival

Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, Olovson grew up in a musical family, beginning his journey on piano at the age of seven and recording original compositions by his early teens. Now based in Los Angeles, Olovson is embarking on a new chapter, with ‘THINGS I COULD’VE LEFT BEHIND’ bridging his previous releases, which echoed the likes of Nils Frahm and Chilly Gonzales, to a more contemporary, genre-blurring blueprint, reminiscent of James Blake and Blood Orange. This stirring reinterpretation of his sonic landscape will also feature vocals sung by Olovson. ‘THINGS I COULD’VE LEFT BEHIND’, written, produced and mixed by the artist himself, is the perfect slice of Olovson’s classical sound, sure to enchant fans of Nils Frahm, Blood Orange, James Blake and Flawed Mangoes.

‘THINGS I COULD’VE LEFT BEHIND’ sees Olovson play the keys with a light, easy touch, where each note sounds relaxed but oozes vibrance. The rhythm gives it a gentle swing, like something you’d hear in a dimly lit, hazy jazz bar. The melody flows slowly, while soft vocals float in and out, adding depth without cluttering the production. Its soulful brilliance sticks with the listener long after the final note, and is a remarkable track to launch Olovson’s exciting new chapter.
