Tastemakers’ favourite, Swedish producer/DJ/artist La Fleur drops upbeat single ‘Plastic Miami’, a third taste of her forthcoming album ‘Väsen’ due October 18th on [PIAS] Électronique.
Previous LP singles Chian, Slowdive and Stay With Me won praise from Mixmag, DJ Mag, SiriusXM, Kiss FM, Kerri Chandler, Axel Boman, Sim0ne, Eelke Kleijn… La Fleur’s scalpel-sharp tech skills are crafted to home in on the emotions. This new body of work has a positive, life-affirming vibe, carried by hook-happy melodies and complex layered percussion – a collection of sure-fire summer hits.
‘Plastic Miami’: Typically La Fleur in its layering and intertwining of superbly crafted strands and sub-genres. A rolling romp of a beat with bongo-esque multi-level percussion keeps collecting crystal-clear elements like a snowball – sparkling sweet piano arps, pizzicato melodic guitar phrases, fanfares of horn-like synths like elvish trumpets, and a subtle yet distinct flavour of Kraftwerk – all keep the mind entranced following the glittering threads, leaving the body free to respond to the upbeat, joyful vibe and let loose.
Her long-awaited debut LP ‘Väsen’ follows successes and accolades inc. a decade of her Power Plant label, a Mixmag breakthrough artist nod, a Watergate compilation, an Essential Mix, Essential New Tune collab with Sasha ‘Förbindelse’, and gigs inc. Creamfields, Awakenings, Watergate Berlin, Printworks London, Sonar festival, Warung Brazil, Amnesia Ibiza.
‘Plastic Miami’ is out now on [PIAS] Électronique, save it here. Full album Väsen drops October 18th, save it here.
