The humble Austin, Texas techno export Barbuto has some exciting new projects in the works, including his forthcoming EP "La Puerta" out November 21on Renesanz Records. Cementing his reputation in the underground techno scene, Barbuto is a fervent figure in electronic music with a signature sound that lights up the dance floor.
"La Puerta" delivers three deep & driven techno tracks with progressive undertones. With a bit of dubbed presence to it, the use of synths and pads is present as it creates three voluminous pieces: "La Puerta", "Tepes" and "Cannibal".
"This ep is a perfect statement of my individual character and my personality. Dark edgy grooves with slightly sinister chords, but a warm steady groove on the bottom end thats leaves a little something for everyone on the dance floor. I really enjoyed playing these tracks around North America over the summer and can't wait to get them out there on one of my favorite labels "Renesanz".
– Barbuto
The title track "La Puerta" uses an orchestra of manipulated synths and pads to give it an infectious progression of energy. The humming bassline feeds the hi's creating a full, and pure techno piece. "Tepes" goes a bit darker and greasier with its production, leading in with a strong, rumbling bassline and kick drum. The seismic distribution of bass and synths make Tepes the go-to track for those peak hours in the club. The last track "Cannibal" fires up a propulsive force, leaving you completely satisfied after listening to the 3-piece EP. An industrial presence with the use of hollow synths and reverb dispense an entrancing crescendo.
